And during the roundup, these snakes are kept in a pit and then, one by one, beheaded and skinned in front of in front of audiences." - Elizabeth MeLampy Elizabeth MeLampy is a lawyer dedicated to animal rights and protection, and her passion for this work shines through in her latest book, Forget the Camel, the Madcap World of Animal Festivals and What They Say About Being Human . To research the book, Elizabeth traveled across the country, immersing herself in a wide range of animal festivals — from the Iditarod dog sled race to the rattlesnake roundup in Sweetwater, Texas. Elizabeth examines these festivals as revealing microcosms of our broader relationship with animals. Gracy share many of her first-year experiences at Lindenwood University - including her interest in pursuing medical school after her time at LU. Coach Eagan discusses the team's success in the OVC so far this season. Her Lady Lions are 8-0 at home, but play 4 of the final 6 conference games on the road.. She also discusses Justis Odom's evolution to be one of the best true centers in the OVC this year and how the 'help-side' defense has evolved as the season progresses. Coach Eagan also shares a moving story about the team's student manager, Payton Toussaint - and all of the many tasks Payton does for the team. Finally, news came out on Monday that ESPN U will be on the LU campus on Saturday, February 15th at 11:00 a.m. central time. A large crowd is expected for the game in the Hyland Arena.
