Recognition is a big part of being human. It helps us connect with others and grow. But when we need it too much, it can be a problem. In our digital age, social media makes it even harder to get recognition. Weāre constantly checking our phones for likes and comments, and it can be addictive.

When individuals strongly identify with their opinions, they may experience a deep sense of personal affront when faced with differing viewpoints. This reaction can trigger feelings of defensiveness, as if their very identity is being challenged. Consequently, they may resist considering alternative perspectives, clinging tightly to their beliefs rather than engaging in open dialogue. This dynamic of perceived hostility towards their self-image can create barriers to meaningful communication and understanding.ā¦
