Tracy Swartzendruber, a successful boss in a male-dominated industry, shares her journey and the valuable lessons she learned along the way. She describes herself as an average person with a normal life, married for 25 years, raising two teenagers and two dogs in the Midwest. However, her story goes beyond the ordinary.
Growing up with a father who was a Marine, Tracy developed a bold and brash personality. Her father instilled in her the belief that she could take on anyone, regardless of gender, and be their equal. This upbringing shaped Tracy's resilience and determination to fight for her place in the world.
As a mother of a daughter, Tracy continues to pass on these valuable lessons, encouraging her daughter to be self-confident and capable of defending herself.
Tracy has transitioned between various jobs and industries, predominantly male-dominated. Despite the challenges, she has embraced her unique perspective and used humor to connect with others and break the ice. Her story showcases her resilience and determination to be heard and make a difference.
Her greatest accomplishments lie not in business outcomes but in the positive impact she has had on people's lives. She takes pride in supporting her employees through difficult personal circumstances, especially during times of loss or illness.
Tracy's story serves as a reminder of the power of empathy and compassion in the workplace. Her ability to see and treat people as individuals, beyond their professional roles, has created a supportive and uplifting environment.
Age should never limit our dreams, aspirations, or impact on the world.
