Sharon Cox has been a financial professional for over 30 years. As the founder of The Money Dance, she consistently encourages women to lead confident, meaningful money lives through her work as a money coach, facilitator of Women and Money Circles, interactive workshop presenter, and professional speaker. Sharon consistently advocated for women as a financial planner, socially responsible investment advisor, small business consultant, and national conference manager. She is an award-winning speaker and author of materials published by the National Endowment for Financial Education.
Sharon joins us to talk about navigating the tricky waters of your emotional relationship with money. Women in their 60s should feel at ease in their money lives and Sharon recommends starting this process with a self-assessment. We’ve accumulated habits throughout our lives around money, and it’s important to look at what’s serving us and what isn’t. Sharon also recommends getting your estate plan in place, which can sometimes be an intimidating topic.
One of the best ways to feel at ease with money is to eliminate any surprises. To get your estate plan in order, start by finding an attorney or checking out the California Advanced Health Care Directive (linked below). Our discussion with Sharon also includes how to plan with a partner, how cultural norms impact our views on money, how to have uncomfortable conversations around our financial lives, and how our values and our money mindsets are connected. For more information on Sharon’s money circles, click the link below.
What’s Inside:
