Don’t go around dropping “truth bombs”.

“… speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in every way (into Christ).” Ephesians 4:15

It’s true that the truth will set us free, but not when it’s spoken in anger, bitterness, and malice. Our rage and frustration will drown out the truth that could edify and enrich.

Our calling and purpose is to equip one another for service, to equip one another to develop and use our gifts and abilities to make a positive difference in this world. A truth told in spite seldom accomplishes this.

As we mature spiritually and emotionally, we find that we are able to communicate difficult truths from a center of love, compassion, and grace. When we find ourselves unable, we hold our tongues or find an intermediary or a mediator to help.

It’s not about dropping truth bombs. It’s about helping each other become better by sharing the truth in love.

I’m Horace McMillon. This is 60 Seconds of Hope. Peace be with you.
