Knowing Our Seasons

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens” - Ecclesiastes 3:1

I’ve come to embrace this wisdom as one of the central truths of my existence. It’s important for us to discern not only the whats but also the whens, wheres, and whys. In order for us to flourish and contribute our best, we must do the right things, in the right places, with the right people, at the right times.

My consistent prayer was inspired by the book, “Prayer of Jabez”. I pray that God opens the right doors and closes all other doors. I pray that I am brought into alignment with my highest possibilities and purposes for this time and place in my life.

I’ve had three major transitions in my adult life. The first was to leave Omaha and move to Chicago for Seminary. The second was to move Chicago to Mississippi to become a lead pastor and a senior territory manager in my other profession. I’m in a third major transition now, moving back to Chicago launching a virtual ministry and working as a regional sales manager.

There are miracles and near miracles associated with each of these transitions. I’ve learned successful transitions begin with discerning the season and then asking God to guide one’s feet.

Peace be with you.
