Having just celebrated Iceland's 80th birthday, we are back at it this week with another wonderful artist spotlight! This week, Rex and Jói welcome experimental dark pop performance artist and queer icon Mighty Bear to Grapevine HQ Studios.
Having just released his latest album Angurværð on May 31, the EP marks a turning point for Mighty Bear as he tests the limitations of his artistry within a neoclassical soundscape. We had a rousing talk about his latest album, the catharsis of music for processing grief, artistic maturation, and the state of queer life in Iceland.
