What started out as an idea between J. Cole and his team back in the early days of his career, Dreamville Records has become one of the biggest hip hop record labels/supergroups in the music industry.

While the label has been distributed through Interscope since 2014, and was founded all the back in 2007, it wasn’t until 2019 when the world started to actually recognize what they were capable of with “Revenge of the Dreamers III”. Critically acclaimed and beloved by rap fans from all regions, this album single-handedly shot Dreamville all the way up to being one of hottest rap labels in the game.

Just in time for their annual festival in Cole’s home state of North Carolina, Dreamville has returned with a Gangsta Grillz themed mixtape, called “D-Day”. Scaling it back with the features this time around, “D-Day” is a much more raw offering from the supergroup.

Here is our review of “D-Day” by Dreamville Records.

Date Recorded: April 10th, 2022.
