Questions Christians Ask | I ask questions all the time. It is the nature of a teacher to ask, or it is part of my makeup anyway. What are they, and how does this pertain to you whether you are walking with the Lord or don’t know Him? In this episode, we explore this idea of questions we should ask and ponder.

Questions Christians Ask ~ Episode 303

I ask questions all the time. It is the nature of a teacher to ask, or it is part of my makeup anyway. When my kids misbehaved, I asked them questions to see exactly why they were stubbornly refusing the rules or if they had a different motivation. My husband, an athlete, would ask my children, “What were you thinking?” when they were playing sports and messed up. We ask questions each day, of ourselves or others. How many of us use popular search engines online on our computers or phones to search for answers to our questions?

Besides typical questions we ask, there are those that are deep.

  1. What is the meaning of life?
  2. Why am I here?
  3. What is my purpose?
  4. Who am I?
  5. What do I believe?

Many of these questions, while asked by the greatest minds of all times, philosophers, and others throughout the centuries, all stemmed from a lack of purpose, knowledge, and faith.

So, it should not be startling that, as Christians, we should also ask questions. “Does God exist?”

If we are honest with ourselves, we have all wondered if God exists at some point. Sure, we can attribute that thought to the evil one, but all people struggle with the idea, “What if it is not true?” at some point in their lives.

But, “What if it is true?”

The worst that can happen if you follow a Christian life is that you may die, and there is no heaven. The worst that can happen if you deny Christ exists is eternal damnation. Don’t take my word for it, look it up! However, if you don’t believe the Bible is true, that may be problematic.

Questions Christians Ask ~ Leading a Virtuous Life

For those of us who have faith, we know that God does not force anyone to believe, however, He is clear in the scriptures that there is only one way to heaven. What is the way? Deny yourself, pick up the cross, and follow Him. Denying yourself means leaving sin behind. Picking up your cross deals with facing the trials in life (that we all face at one time or another). No one who is deeply in sin is happy. Sin makes a person miserable.

How do we know God asks us to acknowledge Him as Lord and Savior? And, should we fear? Of course not, but be warned. Let’s read Matthew 10:32-33 (Read on air)

Mark 8:38 (Read on air)

Sounds like that verse is very applicable today.

John 3:36 is a verse we know. (Read on Air)

God is loving, kind, full of grace, and ready to forgive. God is also righteous. Often we think God must act the way we expect Him to while we get a pass. We expect more out of the Almighty than we are willing to do ourselves.

The ultimate question we should ask is are we ready to meet our maker? Are we ready to face the Lord? Many of us are not. We each need to strive through God’s grace to avoid sin. That is why we pray for God’s grace. God has given us a conscience for this very reason. Many know in their hearts that God exists but are not ready to follow Him on His terms.

At the beginning of this podcast, I listed some age-old questions. Let’s look at these questions in light of Christianity. How would you answer them?

  1. What is the meaning of life?
  2. Why am I here?
  3. What is my purpose?
  4. Who am I?
  5. What do I believe?

I’m not going to answer these questions for you, but I do know how I would answer them. This is one of those times that I really wish we were all in a room together so we could discuss everyone’s answers! Take some time to truly think about these questions, and if you are struggling with the answers, go to the scriptures and read them, especially the four gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. There you will find the answers and that my friends should give us joy. May God be praised now and forever.
