OnlyFans has been in the headlines and talked about for the past few weeks after deciding that they were going to remove sexually explicit photos and videos from their site but then later reversing the decision. But the bigger question is, what is next after such fallback for the platform and the creators that use it. On this coffee date, Hamish Hallett was joined by Mini (Minisversion), an OnlyFans creator, to explore these questions and understand what it is really like on the platform. They spoke on a range of different ideas like who is to blame for this event, if institutions like banks are “censorious moral guardians”, and how the backlash may show a change in how society views sex work.
