Podcast Welcome: A Toast to Truths is where I share the mental, financial and emotional frustrations of being an entrepreneur. This is Season 6 Episode 7 “All Skinfolk ain’t Kinfolk in Entrepreneurship”.

Q: Should we blast our own community when they have fraudulent business practices?

Part I

What people usually complain about black owned businesses

Are you the toxic person on the relationship?

Dealing with toxic family members in business

When family members steal money

How to confront the frauds in your family

Why contracts are important

How to deal with a business coach who steals work from their clients

What did I learn from that experience

The consequences of not proper dealing with that business coach

Doing what’s in the best interest of my business

Take a sip: To get exclusive deals, offers and specials from Target sign up for my journal entries. Subscribe to the daily email. If you haven’t ordered your copy of Detox the B.S. Journal and you’re ready to go from stressful situation to peaceful solution do so.

Part II

How these experiences hurt me to my core

Making better use of the lessons I’ve learned

Understanding the emotional work when dealing with hard, sensitive situations

When a national somebody steals your idea then it……

Why I don’t like sisterhood and women empowerment events

How people use and manipulate you when you’re young and have a smaller platform

What did I learn?

What it was like to produce and host my own TV show

The inner workings of dealing with a TV network

You have the right to be angry when you are taken advantage of

Weighing the options when you run a blog association and what’s in the best interest of the group as a whole

Do your research when you think people aren’t giving you the whole picture

Understand contracts are needed and know what should be in it

Have a record of all communication

Take responsibility for my decisions no matter what happens

When I step into a meeting, it’s about business

I’m not your business savior

Final Toast:

Episode – Don’t call people out by name unless someone specifically ask about that person and your experience. Take the lesson you learned and move on in the best emotional state. Karma will handle them. Call out the experience not the person. You don’t want to get into beef with a shady person.

Season – Look at the lesson and not repeating it, Karma will take care of it. Sometimes destiny is found in the least likely sources.
