In this episode Hope and Rosy talk about why people are calling JK Rowling transphobic. We discuss her activity on Twitter, in addition to the essay she posted on her website, breaking down the timeline, and talking about the difference between her version of events and what actually took place. This is not a hit piece, but rather, an attempt to understand what she believes and why, and to factcheck the claims she makes about transgender people and the laws that apply to them. Although we did not set out to make this into an entire episode, we felt it was important to point out Rowling's flaws in logic, especially because these comments have lent a feeling of legitimacy to a group of people who would seek to do immense harm to the trans community.
