This week on A Waste of Time with ItsTheReal, we welcome East Harlem's own Wayno Clark, who many people know as Dave East's manager, to South Harlem! Wayno shares his amazing journey from living in the shelter system as a child to avoiding the street life as a high schooler to going to the theater to see the Roc-a-fella Records documentary Backstage, which opened his eyes to the music industry. Wayno details dropping out of high school and finding work in the mail room at 825 Worldwide Plaza, home to the legendary Def Jam Records, working his way into recording sessions at Baseline Studios, watching Beanie Sigel, Kanye West, Just Blaze, Shari Bryant, Hip-Hop, Lenny S, Dame Dash, Jay Z and everyone else at the Roc contribute to the dynasty. We talked his work with the Young Gunz, his hitting rock bottom after Roc-a-fella broke up, meeting, advising, and breaking bread with Dave East, and the new partnership he brokered with Def Jam for his and Dave's label Triangle Offense. From the delivering mail to Def Jam to going into business with Def Jam, this is one amazing story!
