In my experience, that statement often means, "I really want to focus on investments." I tell people all the time, if you're only doing investments, you're no more of a planner than someone who only focuses on the core products.

I think it just says right there, the fact that reps or advisers look around themselves and they see people making so much more than that, that it does kind of get belittled.
