There is another divide in America beyond left and right, Democrat and Republican. There is a huge chasm between people who are hyper engaged in politics and make it a central part of their lives and those who are disengaged and don't watch the news or pay attention to political stories on their social media feeds. Yanna Krupnikov is a professor of communication and media at the University of Michigan and she's been studying this phenomenon for years. She says the people who are obsessed with politics get more attention, giving the impression that America is more polarized than it really is. Dr Krupnikov offers a new way to think about politics.
