Euan is originally from Aberdeen, Scotland. He studied computer science at Edinburgh University. Euan talks about his background and early career working in the field of medical genetics and bioinformatics at Edinburgh University, blending his computer science background with life sciences, as well as how he came to found Altmetrics, a startup focused on tracking the attention that scholarly articles receive online, and Overton, a startup which links policy documents to the research that influences them, highlighting the impact of scholarly work on government policies. Euan shares his valuable experiences and insight on start-ups.
