The guest star this week was Dorothy Kirsten, but this segment is an edited excerpt with the first and last songs of this, the last broadcast of the 1948 season of the program. After a topical reference to Gen. MacArthur, Jolson went back to near the beginning of his career, singing "Alexander's Ragtime Band." He then closed the program with a new song he had penned in tribute to the new Jewish state, "Israel."
