Dating is one of the toughest cultures for us to crack when we first moved to America. The Philippines' dating scene is a lot more conservative, family-oriented, and slower-paced compared to the American culture.
Dating in the '90s, in a pretty conservative culture means the man has to do a lot of work before getting a woman's attention before deciding that you're a match. There's a lot of "playing hard to get" - because it is all about the chase.
There were no dating sites back then so everything relied on organic interactions. We honestly prefer it. We don't think we really got acclimated to the American way but of course, we had to make adjustments to "fit in".
But what was dating like for teenagers who attend an all-girls Catholic school? It can be tricky but if there is a will, there is always a way. :)
