Marina Oswald, wife of Lee Harvey Oswald, is the only witness linking Lee Harvey Oswald to the rifle found in the TSBD, the discarded blue jacket that matched fibers on the rifle, the name Hidell(the name of the purchaser of the rifle), and quite a few other pieces of direct evidence.

The problem is that Marina constantly made contradicting statements, such as:

stating that she had seen Lee Harvey Oswald's pistol twice, that she only saw Lee's pistol when she took his picture in the backyard, and that "she never saw a pistol that Lee owned."

If, as according to one of the lawyers on the Warren Commission, there was no way to legally convict Lee Harvey Oswald after his assassination, and a legal case would have been very difficult to make against Oswald had he lived, what was the point of the Warren Commission they were all forced into by the new President Johnson and FBI director John Edgar Hoover?
