I was live on the campus of a very special and unique college located in the heart of Flushing, Queens, New York, directly across the street from LaGuardia Airport and about 10 minutes from Arthur Ashe Stadium. What a great conversation with the President, the Director of Career Services, and several students talking about the variety of aviation and technology disciplines this almost hidden New York gem offers.

Maria Fajardo is majoring in Electrical Engineering Technology and Avionics with a minor in Air Traffic Control.
Joshua Harripaul is studying Aviation Maintenance to get his Aircraft and Powerplant (A&P) certification along with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and is on track to become a professional pilot.
Boyuan Chen has a Bachelors Degree in Airport Management and in addition to pursuing his Masters, is also studying for his Aircraft and Powerplant certification.
Jewel Fletcher who is also on track to become a professional pilot is pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Aeronautical Sciences.

Its host and moderator, Vince Mickens, is a long time private pilot who flies frequently for both personal and business. Mickens background includes strategic partnership executive roles over the last 17 years with the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), the AOPA Air Safety Foundation, and the Bob Hoover Legacy Foundation, all after a 28-year broadcast journalism career working in seven major television and radio broadcast markets nationwide.
