What happens when you spend 30 minutes a day actively imaging and writing down what you thought about and then comparing it to your real world experiences? I started a 30 Day, Daydream a New Life Challenge. Wait until you hear some feedback. We are going to talk about it on the podcast today! And - oh my over caffeinated. I stumble on about 20 words. I was so excited. Hope that doesn't distract because I was reading research too! "Why Imagination and Curiosity Matter More Than Ever" From an article about a book from John Seely Brown John Seely Brown or as he is often called—JSB—is the Independent Co-Chairman of the Deloitte’s Center for the Edge and a visiting scholar and advisor to the Provost at University of Southern California (USC). A master integrator and instigator of productive friction, JSB explores the whitespace between disciplines and builds bridges between disparate organizations and ideas. From the article: I think we’re way too focused on creativity. It’s misguided. We should be focused on imagination. . . The real key is being able to imagine a new world. Once I imagine something new, then answering how to get from here to there involves steps of creativity. So I can be creative in solving today’s problems, but if I can’t imagine something new, then I’m stuck in the current situation. . . "JSB’s comments on the importance of imagination reminded me of a book I read a few years ago, Innovation – the Missing Dimension, by MIT professors Richard Lester and Michael Piore."
