The ALN Academy Talks aim to promote conversations on rule of law in Africa. Today, we focus on trade and, in particular, on the Kenya-UK Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), which was ratified in March of this year. We had the honour to interview on this topic Daniel Ngumy, Partner, and Luisa Cetina, Director, at ALN Kenya | Anjarwalla & Khanna, who co-head the firm’s newly launched International Trade Law Practice. In a two-part interview, Daniel and Luisa take us through the key aspects of this agreement.
In Part 1, Daniel Ngumy, highlights the key areas of economic cooperation development, the EPA’s support to the private sector, the political and economic impacts of this agreement, the positive trade balance for Kenya, the trade relationship between Kenya and the UK and the key aspects of taxes under this agreement.
