In the final part of this five-part series on the rarely discussed topic of setting boundaries, we discuss the importance of setting boundaries- especially for ourselves. Oftentimes, we need to set boundaries and limitations for ourselves so that we can remain in the right position. When we guard ourselves and practice self-discipline, especially with our tongue, we gain power and influence. The more you understand the power of thoughts and words, the more intentional you will be with the people, places, and things you entertain and allow to inform/influence you. As a child of God, you want to be intentional about what you take inside your mind and spirit.

Keys from This Episode:

  • Boundaries protect you, from you.
  • Just because something is a good thing doesn’t mean it is a ‘God’ thing. There is a difference between something being a good thing and it being a God thing.
  • It is better to have a strong and well-informed conscience rather than a weak and uninformed one.

Theme Scripture:

Mark 7:1-23 | James 1:14-15 | Mark 7:6 | James 1:26 | Proverbs 28:26 | Jeremiah 17:9 | Mark 14:38 | Proverbs 11:16 | Proverbs 13:3 | Matthew 12:35 | Matthew 15:19 | Hebrews 4:12-13
