Danny Rodriguez talks with Co-Authors of ‘Sunrise Through the Darkness’, William Jimeno & Michael Moats. Will is a Retired Port Authority Police Department Officer and 9/11 Survivor famously portrayed by actor Michael Pena in the hit movie World Trade Center (2006). Michael is a clinical psychologist practicing out of Colorado Springs, CO. In this episode, Danny talks with Will and Michael about how they met each other, why they decided to connect and write Sunrise Through the Darkness together, Will’s desire to become a police officer, Michael’s explanation of how purpose/meaning/a calling can conquer fear, Danny’s memories of 9/11, Will’s experience of reliving the collapse of the towers scenes in World Trade Center, how Michael helped Will through that healing process, Will's account of events on 9/11, how Will learned to tackle PTSD/Survivor's Guilt, the skill of listening and where Michael found his passion in those who need to be heard, Will's words of wisdom to those entering a career in law enforcement/first responding, Michael's advice to those struggling with asking for help with their mental health, and what's next for Will & Michael both.
