Claudie is a 9-year-old girl living in Harlem in 1922, surrounded by talented writers, painters, musicians, and singers of the Harlem Renaissance, where she tries to find her OWN special talent to share with the world.
Joining Kristen and Sydney are Brit Bennett, the author of the Claudie books and New York Times best-selling author of The Mothers and The Vanishing Half, and Connie Porter, the author of the American Girl Addy books.
Together, Brit and Connie discuss their experiences writing such impactful American Girl books and where they found inspiration when creating these historical characters -- and we will learn from Brit about how she was actually inspired by Addy herself!
