President George H.W. Bush was America’s 41st president.He also served as president Ronald Reagan’s Vice President. In an effort to bring traditional American values into the White House, he coined the phrase, “a kinder and gentler nation,”

President Bush was also a World War II hero, flying in 58 combat missions as a Navy pilot. On one particular mission he was shut down by Japanese anti -aircraft. He was later rescued by a US submarine.
