Episode 138 The spiritual war in our time

Paul says that our warfare is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual powers of wickedness in heavenly places. But we are also told that Christ won the victory against the enemy at Calvary. If this is so then why is there still a war? To understand clearly what God did in Christ Jesus at Calvary is critical to being able to view the conflict that we face properly and live in the power of His endless life. We are called to live as overcomers, and the resources to do that are as we abide in Christ’s victory. If we try to live out of our resources, we will be defeated. We are no match for the devil on our own. But as we abide in Christ, we are more than overcomers. Is that our experience today? It should be, and if not it can be.

  • The conflict is in spiritual realms
  • The victory was won at Calvary
  • Christ is seated at the right hand of God (authority)
  • By faith we are seated with him
  • The enemy occupies territory that is not his
  • God uses the warfare to strengthen our relationship with Him
  • Every spiritual provision has been provided for us to overcome all things
  • Physical death is not a defeat but only graduation if we die in faith
