1. what if 假如...会怎样

What if 是歌曲中出现频率最高的短语。在英语中what if 有三种用法。

what if 假如...会怎么样，也是我们最常见的what if 的用法。后面可以跟一般陈述句，也可以接虚拟语气。

What if they find the coin first? 要是他们先找到硬币该怎么办呢？

what if 表示建议或邀请，意思是“如果...怎么样”。歌词中几个what if的句子就是这个意思。

what if we run away? 你觉得我们逃离怎么样？

与so搭配表示不重要，不在乎

So what if we are a littble bit late? 我们晚一点儿到又能怎么样呢？

口语对话中，so what if ... 可能会被简化成so what.

2. safe and sound 安然无恙

歌词中what if we say goodbye to safe and sound

safe 是指安全的意思，而sound，sound最常见的意思是指「听起来」。例：It sounds good. 意思是指听起来很好的意思。

但你可别以为safe and sound跟「听」有关喔。因为sound 当作形容词时，是指完好的、无损伤的意思。

Taylor Swift曾经出过一首歌曲就叫safe and sound,是影片hunger games的主题曲。

3. lose one's mind 失去理智

lose one's mind 就是失去理智了

常见同意短语 lose one's mind / go crazy / go insane

Are you going insane

你也可以用 lose one's marbles 來形容失去理智的人 相反地，我们用 keep sane 來保持理智

I need some time away from the kids to keep me sane. / keep my sanity

4. trip 轻快地行走

Trippin' on skies sippin' waterfalls 是一句我很喜欢的歌词

根据trip的不同用法我觉得这句歌词可以有两种不同的理解。首先Trip当动词来用，它可以是「轻快地行走」，trip on the sky 翻译成轻快地游走在天空中非常合理。

如果我们把trip on看做是一个搭配trip on/over sth表示被什么东西给绊倒了，The old man tripped on the stone 老人被石头绊倒了。

两个人游走天际之间，被云朵绊倒，相视哈哈大笑的场景是不是也很美妙呢？

5. cross one's fingers 期待好运

歌词中唱到cross your fingers here we go

大家都知道，cross是交叉的意思，fingers是手指；cross one's fingers, 字面意思是手指交叉，实际上就是希望得到好运气的意思。"To cross one's fingers is a hand gesture commonly used to wish for luck 美国人经常把食指和中指交叉，意思就是祝你好运! I cross my fingers, hoping the weather would be good this weekend. 我交叉手指，希望这个周末会有好天气。

这个短语也用作have one's fingers crossed.
