In this episode of Apprenticeship 2.0, Joe chats with Jamie Merisotis, president and CEO of Lumina Foundation; an internationally recognized leader in higher education, philanthropy, and public policy whose work has appeared in The Washington Post, The New York Times, Forbes, and many other high-profile outlets; and author of America Needs Talent and Human Work in the Age of Smart Machines. Together, they discuss the effects of declining college enrollment, and the need for continued support for education and training despite concerns about cost and accessibility. They also look at how apprenticeships can fill the gaps created by barriers to post-high school degrees, and why apprenticeships are less common in the U.S. than in other countries such as Germany and the U.K.
