How to Overcome Imposter Syndrome
Manage episode 446333178 series 2923058
You might not be a world class expert or the ultimate authority on an issue you care about. Maybe you can't teach the graduate level class on it. Guess what? Most people need the intro level information. And you can share it. In a way that's far more relatable and useful than most experts. Listen in to this episode to overcome imposter syndrome and leverage who you are and what you know.
- Imposter syndrome is most likely to inflict people who feel they don't belong. Yet your voice as a young professional, woman, minority reflects a much needed diverse and accessible point of view.
- You know you have Imposter syndrome if you've dealt with any of the following: fear of failing, fear of success/being too visible, perfectionism, analysis paralysis, overperfoming, chasing qualifications.
- Don't wait and hope for an opportunity. Make one for yourself by taking action instead of waiting for permission.
- Celebrate the little wins- they build momentum and provide you with the receipts that prove you are not a fraud.
