Today I am speaking with the generous and colourful Maggi McDonald. Maggi is an artist & surface designer based in Sydney, Australia. After growing her family she studied design which led her to rediscover her love of painting. Nature is a constant inspiration in her work and her brightly coloured abstract gardens and landscapes are inspired by the natural beauty of her adopted country Australia, and South Africa where she grew up. Maggi was born in Cape Town and lived in London before settling in Sydney. She loves traveling and learning about world cultures and in particular the symbols and patterns used in textiles and art.
In this interview we talk about building a social media presence through consistency, creating content (and being paid for it), managing burnout and the evolution of creative careers.
