Marie Payne is one of the founders and currently the president of Arts on the Credit - a nonprofit arts organization providing opportunities for local Greater Toronto artists to show and sell their work. Marie has had several past lives including 35 years as a primary public school teacher, 30 plus years as a textile artist focusing on weaving and dying, and was a partner with my husband in a yarn business for several years . Along the way Marie also had a family and now has 2 grandchildren to further inspire. She has a rich life that keeps her busy and is well connected to her local arts community.

In this episode, Marie talks about starting The Arts on the Credit along with her experience as a weaver at The William’s Mill in Glen Williams and The Distillery Arts District in Toronto.

Want to meet some of the artists, if you’re listening to this episode when it comes out, The Arts on the Credit is hosting an Arts Drive on Saturday, September 25, 2021. Check out their website for more information.
