Welcome to episode 21 of season 5, where we look at German vocabulary and sentences based on a particular topic. Today we're following a German recipe for Christmas biscuits (with thanks to Kathrin, whose original recipe is here: https://www.backenmachtgluecklich.de/rezepte/plaetzchenteig-grundrezept.html

  • Einfacher Plätzchenteig
  • Vorbereitung 15 Min. Backzeit 10 Min. Kühlzeit 30 Min.
  • Zutaten
  • 250 Gramm Weizenmehl
  • 90 Gramm Zucker
  • 125 Gramm Butter kalt
  • 1 mittelgroßes Ei
  • Mehl und Zucker in eine Schüssel geben.
  • Die Butter in kleinen Stückchen und das Ei hinzufügen.
  • Alles zu einem Mürbeteig verkneten.
  • Teig in Folie wickeln und für mindestens eine halbe Stunde kühlstellen.
  • Backofen auf 175 Grad aufheizen.
  • Den Teig aus dem Kühlschrank holen und ausrollen.
  • Plätzchen ausstechen und auf ein mit Backpapier belegtes Blech legen.
  • Etwa 10-12 Minuten goldgelb backen.
  • Abkühlen lassen und nach Belieben dekorieren.
