This week Pastor Travis continues with the series on vision,
Pressing into Vision Pt.3
What is Vision?
1)The faculty or state of being able to see. (natural)
2)The ability to think about or plan the future with imagination or wisdom.
(internal)
Why is Vision Important?
Vision provides you with something to anticipate and work towards. It provides a
reason to keep pushing on in what you’re doing, even if things get difficult.
A vision provides an end goal or destination this creates a need to set goals to
define a clear pathway to the desired destination.
Habakkuk 1:2-4 (NLT)
2 How long, O Lord, must I call for help? But you do not listen!
“Violence is everywhere!” I cry, but you do not come to save.
3 Must I forever see these evil deeds? Why must I watch all this misery?
Wherever I look I see destruction and violence.
I am surrounded by people who love to argue and fight.
4 The law has become paralyzed, and there is no justice in the courts.
The wicked far outnumber the righteous, so that justice has become perverted.
Habakkuk 1:5-6 (NLT)
5 The Lord replied, “Look around at the nations; look and be amazed![a]
For I am doing something in your own day, something you wouldn’t believe
even if someone told you about it. 6 I am raising up the Babylonians,[b]
a cruel and violent people. They will march across the world and conquer other lands.
Habakkuk 1:12-13 (NLT)
12 O Lord my God, my Holy One, you who are eternal—surely you do not plan to wipe us out? O Lord, our Rock, you have sent these Babylonians to correct us,
to punish us for our many sins. 13 But you are pure and cannot stand the sight of evil. Will you wink at their treachery? Should you be silent while the wicked
swallow up people more righteous than they?
Deuteronomy 28:1-2, 28:7, 28:47-49 (NLT)
Habakkuk 2:1-3 NKJV
2 I will stand my watch And set myself on the rampart,
And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected. 2 Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision
And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.
3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it;Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.
Habakkuk 2:4 NKJV
4 “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; (Internal problem)
But the just shall live by his faith. (personal decision)
Habakkuk 2:5 NKJV, Habakkuk 2:6-8 NLT, Habakkuk 2:13-14 NLT, Habakkuk 3:2 NLT,
Habakkuk 3:3-6 NLT, Habakkuk 3:17-19 NKJV.
