Coons, Jr., CLU, ChFC® Edwin (Ed) Coons has been with National Life since 1953, and has established an accomplished career in the financial services industry. Throughout his distinctive career, Ed has shown a deep commitment to the industry and continuous specialization. A graduate of Louisiana State University, class of 1954, he majored in Insurance and Real Estate. Ed served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1957 and later earned a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation from the American College, which is one of the most respected marks of expertise attainable in the life insurance profession. He also earned a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) designation, and a Certificate in Advance Estate Planning from the American College. Ed has been a member of the Atlanta Estate Planning Council (AEPC), since 1973. Ed married Ellen Reuland in July of 2008 and together they have been blessed with 11 children and 36 grandchildren. He is an active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Alpharetta, where he serves as a lector.
