Yesterday, on the 26th of April, inflation data covering the Jan-March 2023 period was released.
It confirms that Inflation officially peaked in Australia in late 2022, and has been on its way down since. Thankfully for Aussie borrowers seeking some relief from interest rate pain, it came in lower than expected.
In this episode, we unpack why:
1. Media reporting of 7% is misleading
2. Why inflation is such an important data release
3. The inflation data release itself; I find its one of the most misunderstood pieces of data.
4. What It means for interest rates in the months ahead
5. What it means for housing over the coming months
