This is an extremely special episode, with one of our Ukrainian friends, Julia. With world events currently, it's hard to think of the right words to express ourselves. Luckily, and one of the positive aspects currently, is that there are many examples of exemplary human behaviour. This is especially so in Ukraine, where people are helping each other out like never before. In Australia, we call this mateship. And so, with Julia, we talk about mateship and how it is being displayed in Ukraine at the moment. We learn some similarities between Australian and Ukrainian culture and how this can play a role in learning languages. We suspect that a lot of people are interested in learning Ukrainian at the moment, so we look at how some of the current cultural strengths of Ukrainians can be used to learn a language. We also have a go at pronouncing and learning some Ukrainian vocabulary and what you can do to demonstrate your mateship towards Ukraine. We hope this episode is as inspiring for you as it is for us. And if you would like to help, these are the links that Julia recommends you follow to donate: Charity Fund “Come Back Alive” www.comebackalive.in.ua/donate The most comprehensive list: supportukrainenow.org/ For transcripts, learning guides and members only content, join our club: australiansteachenglish.com/podcast-members-club/
