Daily living skills are activities of daily living which are routine self care activities we all participate in without assistance. It is important we teach these functional life skills to our children with autism as it will help them in becoming independent which is the ultimate goal for all autism parents . In this episode I am giving you some strategies which you can use to teach these skills to your child with autism .Task Analysis is a process we can use to teach these skills to our children. In this process we take a complex skill and break it down in to smaller steps and then we teach each step separately. It is better to start teaching these skills at a young age but you can start teaching it at any age no matter what your child's skill level is. I have a blog www.autismfamilystory.com which I started to help parents of children with special needs with helpful tips and strategies they can use to help their child with autism.
