On this episode, I speak with local reggae band Space Koi! Their EP, Skank Jam, is full of fun, exciting songs with classic punk, reggae, and blues vibes, all with a special Richmond twist. We talk a little bit about how each member of the band has been connected deeply to music from a very young age, and how that has shaped their love of music and their desire to create. Also, we spoke about the recording process, and Garrett offers a few tips about how to record while on a budget. They also describe some of the hardships of pursuing a life in music, and reveal the fact that most of their time is spent working on music in some way. Don't forget to check out Space Koi at Emilio's every first Wednesday of the month (the next show being 11/2)! Featured song: Space Koi - My Baby is a Hippie: bit.ly/2ekHHDn Space Koi on Bandcamp: bit.ly/2dGiTmh Opening Theme: NICKV. - Sunday Stroll: youtu.be/3ecNhsUHJd4 License: bit.ly/CCAttribution
