I talk to David about how he ended up in Tokyo and what lead him and his wife to open the only Soul Food Restaurant in Tokyo-Soul Food House. He talks about how soul food has been received there and what it’s like to be a black American ex pat. He and his wife have been featured on the popular Netflix show, Ugly Delicious and host a cooking show on a Japanese network. The Whitakers’ hustle, drive, and fearlessness is something we can all admire.
