D.tec International Limited provide drug and alcohol testing services and equipment for safety critical employees, as well as all 43 police forces in England, Wales and Scotland. Ean and the team discussed:
•the extent to which professional drivers driving under the influence of drink and/or drugs is really an issue.
•Industry statistics.
•The hidden nature of the problem and turning a blind eye.
•The role of the operator to provide policy, educate, deter and detect.
•Criminal offences and sanctions.
We also look at the reintroduction of the HGV levy, the driver shortage and using agency and self-employed workers.
