"Mad" Mike Hughes was a stunt man who built a rocket out of scraps and tried to launch himself as high and fast as possible. Was he really trying to prove the earth was flat, as he claimed, or was he simply trying to make a name for himself by doing something spectacular and dangerous? We may never know the answer for sure, but this is the story we do know.
