Jon Foreman wrote a song based on Psalm 51 that is beautiful. The instrumentation is very somber, and while it has a lot of moving pieces, functions in a way that really points to the words being sung.

The Modern Post covered this song and while it is very excellent musically, the focus is much more on the instrumentation and vocal style than the actual words. This may just be the hindsight talking, but I think it might be an early evidence of priority for Dustin.

Dustin interviewed Jon on his podcast last year and the topic of the Garden of Eden came up. Dustin was very quick to say that was a story he used to believe, and Jon didn’t take the bait. Instead of entering a debate, Jon made the theological statement that man’s sin ruins every good thing that God gives us, and we are constantly being kicked out of garden after garden.
