This weeks BAND IT ABOUT - Podcast Series guest drummer is 11 year old Thomas Crescitelli. Although Thomas is still quite young, he has already achieved a lot. Thomas is the 2021 Drum Off Australia Junior Champion and Global Finalist, and is also a Red Cymbals Australia Ambassador! Thomas started out playing on an electric kit when he was 4, switching to an acoustic kit when he began to have lessons with Peter Gore from the Adelaide Drum Academy when he was 7. In 2021 he did the AMEB GRADE 3 ROCK SCHOOL DRUM EXAM (skipping grade 1 & 2) and received a MERIT. His dad started taking him along to open mic/jam sessions at the Gaslight Tavern, the Duke of York, and the Kings Head Hotel's, to give him the opportunity to play in front of crowds, and this has led to him having opportunities to perform with local bands here in South Australia. Thomas has also participated in the Adelaide Roots & Blues Association's Youth In Blues Program, where he was mentored by Mario Marino. Thomas is a John Bonham fanatic with his main influences being Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Foo Fighters. He enjoys playing with other musicians at every opportunity.
Thomas did a fabulous job being interviewed and his performance during 20 questions puts the majority of my previous guests to shame! Lol
