Topics discussed today:
Atlanta Braves
- Vaughn Grissom slotting in with starters. Offseason talk to help keep pressure off him? Batting 9th
- Albies and Harris seem poised bat 5-7 with Olson manning the 2 spot
Chicago White Sox
- Andrew Benintendi and Luis Robert might swap spot but ultimately this looks very likely to be the OD lineup
- What does this mean for Colas?
Los Angeles Angels
- Luis Rengifo on the outside looking in? Splits and defense are rough. Are we sure he enters the year as an every day player? An injury will occur and thus a path will open but I am not sold (at the moment) he’s got an everyday spot
- New approach from Brandon Donavon of the St. Louis Cardinals
Cubs 3B spot
- 5 games and morel has yet to start any at 3B. Is he that much or a sure thing or more getting primed for a utility spot. After a strong start last season, the K’s were an issue and playing time was inconsistent. He has the tools but will that be enough to carry him?
Some pitcher notes
MacKenzie Gore of the Washington Nationals has his velocity is back up to where it was before injury set in
We saw Texas Rangers pitcher Nathan Eovaldi pumping 98 mph. He’s healthy for the moment
David Bednar of the Pittsburgh Pirates velocity is down. Could simply be ramping up. Can’t overreact but requires attention
