Weekly Reading of the Epistle & Hoy Gospel from the Basilica Of St. Mary located in Livonia Mi. St. Mary Orthodox Church is a parish of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of north America. In February, 1972, St. Mary Antiochian Orthodox Church was born when a young priest named Fr. George Shalhoub was ordained and assigned to a small parish in Livonia, Michigan with no church building to call their own. Five years later, in 1977, the Community was blessed to have Metropolitan PHILIP preside over the dedication of their brand new church building located on Merriman Road and finally had a place to call home. Then in 1991, the completion of the cultural center, next door to the church, opened and has been a consistent meeting place for the people of this parish.
