2021 Pittsburgh Preview (feat. Jim Hammett) - Pitt's Next Step, or Narduzzi's Swan Song?
Manage episode 298124490 series 1115586
Our team previews series continues, as this time we visit with long-time friend of the program Jim Hammett (@JimHammett) from Panther-Lair.com to discuss Pittsburgh's interesting upcoming season, including:
- Pat Narduzzi enters Year 7 as the Panthers' head coach, still trying to break out from the 7-8 win per year rhythm the program has been in the whole time. It's time to ask the annual question -- is there heat on Narduzzi to show improved results this fall?
- The Panthers' out-of-conference schedule sets up in a way that may enable them to do something they haven't done in a long while, as Jim drops a not-so-great statistic that blew both of our minds.
- Kenny Pickett returns for his thirteenth and final season, and for his third year of working with OC Mark Whipple. Combined with a ton of returning talent on offense, can that duo finally make some magic in a way they haven't been able to do the past two years?
- The defense sees lots of turnover from some extremely talented players -- but that's also where Pittsburgh has recruited best over the past few years. Is this a defensive rebuild, or reload?
All of that, plus a schedule that's either fortuitous or treacherous (depending on how you look at it), record predictions, and MORE!
