What is mineral makeup? And how do you fake tan without leaving the giveaway signs on your hands? Today's guest has the answers to both... Hello and welcome back to Beauty Island, the beauty podcast that celebrates life and lipstick. I'm your host, beauty journalist, Brittany Stewart. Each episode, I sit down with a guest and ask them about the 8 beauty products that have a special memory or meaning for them. The ones they'd take to a desert island, or Beauty Island, that I am sending them off too. Maybe it's the beauty product that defined their teens, the one they grew up watching their mum or grandma use, or the perfume that instantly sparks a memory of a special place or person. Along the way we find out more about their life, career and the people and events that have shaped them into who they are today. Today's my guest is Victoria Curtis, founder of Australian makeup brand Victoria Curtis Cosmetics and Curtis Collection, a brand with hundreds of stockists around the country. Each time I sit down to an episode of Beauty Island, I am continually blown away by my guests. Their willingness to share their stories, firstly, but also just the incredible strength, wisdom, positivity and dogged determination they have. Victoria is one of those again. She's been someone I've been in contact with for a while, so it was so good to finally have her over one grey Saturday morning for non-stop beauty chat. We talked about her early interaction with the transformative power of beauty, the gap she identified after working at L'Oreal for a makeup brand that was actually good for your skin, and she shared the best fake tan tip for your hands I've ever heard.
