Winten is the moniker of Naarm/Melbourne-based musician and visual artist Bridgette Winten. Writing mostly at night, in her bedroom, Winten’s songs are an introspective collection of tenderness and triumph; gently reflecting on themes ranging from alienation to intimacy, romantic and familial heartbreak, growing pains, insecurity and acceptance, all the while acknowledging and loving an ever-present inner child. This episode I chat with Winten about the poem that soon became the starting point to her debut album 'Waving To My Girl'. We discussed topics surrounding worthiness and healing your inner child, the importance of recording an album surrounded by supportive friends and creating in the world of film and photography.
