Barry first found music when he borrowed his sister's record collection when he was about eight and was hooked. When Caroline started it was a new beginning, and he listened to all the stations, but Caroline was his favourite by far. Later he became a singer in a band, then started doing discos when he was 18. His journey begins with a childhood connection to a character from "The Outsiders," leading to a stint in a junior high gang. Amidst this, music and breakdancing emerge.
His writing career began with a Greek publication that led him to mainstream. His path intertwined with his father's café near Kennedy Airport, frequented by mob figures. A youthful venture into bookmaking at 13 prompted questions from his father after finding a betting sheet.
A brief flirtation with a gangster persona led to an arrest, a pivotal moment curbing his criminal inclinations due to his father's influence. Seeing John Gotti, the Greek Mafia in America, and the origins of the term "Godfathers of the Night."
His novels, notably "Destinies" and its sequel "No Honor Among Thieves," he is working on taking from page to screen. His co-wrote "Prison Rules," with ex-Gambino bodyguard John Alite which draws from real experiences and offers a gritty glimpse into life behind bars. His third book "Mafia Ties - The Greek Syndicates" will be available by June 1st.
